RNI commenced broadcasting on 23rd January 1970 although its initial time on air only lasted 8 months it encountered many challenges within that period. On 24th September at 11.00am the station closed down the presenters had previously announced a statement explaining the reason.
This is the last 3 hours of RNI on that eventful day with presenters Spangle Muldoon, Alan West, Andy Archer & Steven Ladd all saying their farewells and looking back on some of the events that surrounded the Radio Ship.
