Attempted raid on the MEBO II plus station jamming 1970

RNI faced many challenging times in its short illustrious history but this was one that alarmed the crew and listeners to fear the worst. Events unfolded as a tug was seen approaching the ship leading to an attempted act of piracy on the Mebo II. There was a threat to spray water on the ships antenna’s which could have caused fatalities. Hear the full dramatic account of this fascinating event live from the ship on this historic day.

This time RNI is being jammed by the British Government in an attempt to stop their broadcasts now transmitting on 244 meters a frequency close to Radio One at the time. Hear promotions for a rally opposing the jamming, plus suggestions on the forthcoming general election.
